Ever wondered how big a really, REALLY big hole in the ground can be? Come on down to the Rio Tinto Kennecott Visitor Experience and find out! This self-guided tour lets you get up close and personal with the Bingham Canyon Mine, a place that's been digging up Utah's wealth since 1903 and never stops. Learn all about copper, see giant vehicles, and maybe even ride a shuttle to the overlook (shuttles run 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM daily, last return by 4:00 PM). The whole adventure takes about an hour, but you can linger longer if you're fascinated by this massive operation. It's all happening at 12732 Bacchus Hwy., Herriman, UT 84096.
